Looking into other social media platforms i decided that Facebook would be good for my target audience, since a lot of older age groups and food based companies use Facebook.
For my third platform i decided that Reddit would be a good idea as it involves images and videos which i are group based and can directed at your target audience.
I decided not to go for twitter as food based promotion for a non business is difficult to grow organically.
My First post on Facebook I decided to tag in some companies to try and get some feed from companies posts. I tagged in multiple Italian food brands that produce Arancini and stated that Etnacoffee is the king of Arancini.
I managed to not reach as many people as i hoped, I didn't receive much of a reaction but Etnacoffee commenting on my post and thanking me.
My first post on Reddit gained more attraction.
I started off by posted in to popular food groups and got my posts banned from not following the rules.
I searched for italian food groups and found one purely based on Italian food.
Unfortunately the rule in this group is you couldn't post that often so it was going to be difficult with posting consistently.
Collating my work together for a presentation to pitch to Brian and Steve.
The feedback i got back from Brian and Steve was.
Sam - Arancini The Arancini code. Instagram. Reddit. Facebook.Good to have a name, well done. (Gets you into the audience Da Vinci Code).Better than Pizza - a possible campaign thought? Bit of a hill to climb.Speeded up recipe / how to make video on Pinterest would gain interestCute warm illustrated video- do more, perhaps for the recipe / creation process?Sicily Fest: excellent input from this.Arancini of the day: reposting content.“Brighter images work better on instagram” log this for later.Presentation: Show us what you are talking about.
To pursue getting more followers and likes on facebook i commented on posts and followed other peoples groups before posting my next image.
The next four posts i uploaded barely got any reach. I tried sharing on to my story on facebook and on instagram to see if it would gain more feed and so far my highest reach was 3 views!
Pushing forward with reddit my next posts managed to get a lot of reaction within the foodporn group.
This was the biggest reaction i had from reddit so far. To get people to engage i asked if they knew what Arancini was and that managed to get some reaction.
I got a lot of likes and reaction on some posts and no so many on others. I managed to get a lot more comments via Reddit as people where more open to voicing their opinion.
Looking at the feedback from Brian I went on to create an animation to show the process of making Arancini, or as i call Aaron Cini.
This is getting a good reaction, it has received a lot of engagement on Instagram.
I also posted this to Facebook but received no reach.
I also tried posting to pinterest.
For Pinterest i tried to post only aesthetically pleasing bright posts.
After 10 posts on Pinterest i was not receiving any reaction, I tried the use of tags and pinning my images into different boards but received no reaction on my own board.
